The Golden Cape tour from Split is the day-trip we recommend when guests want the postcard hits of central Dalmatia in a single full day on the water without the long open-Adriatic crossing of the Blue Cave route. Four stops, calmer channels the entire way, two of the most photographed beaches in Croatia, and you're back in Split before dinner.

First stop is Zlatni Rat, the famous Golden Cape that juts off the southern coast of Brač near Bol and changes shape with the wind every afternoon. We anchor in the bay behind the pebble spit for two full hours so you actually swim the warm shallows, walk the cape to its tip, and take the inevitable drone photo. The water here is some of the cleanest in the Adriatic.

Second stop is Hvar town, two hours to walk the marble Pjaca, climb to the Fortica fortress for the view back over the Pakleni archipelago, eat lunch at a real konoba and grab a coffee or gelato along the riva. The crew can recommend three restaurants we trust.

Third stop is the Pakleni Islands, pine-scented islets just off Hvar. The skipper picks the calmest bay based on the day's wind, drops anchor for ninety minutes of snorkelling over crystal shallows, and you swim the bay the day-tripper crowd doesn't reach.

Final stop on the way home is a quiet swim cove on Šolta, usually Šešula or Maslinica side, where the cliffs cut the wind and the water stays warm late in the day. Ninety minutes here, then the easy channel run back to Split.

Max 12 guests, professional skipper and sailor, departs and returns from Split's Matejuška pier. Best value full-day boat tour from Split for guests who want Hvar plus Bol plus Pakleni without committing to the Blue Cave dawn start.

Navy Blue Yachting fleet: large, comfortable Adriatic speedboats

Our Fleet

Whichever boat you board, it is the same day

The fleet is Mercan Excursion 36 and Enzo 35 hulls, eleven metres, twin 480hp diesels, and every one of them fitted the same way: hardtop forward, full sundeck aft, the same seating and the same lockers. There is no better boat and no lesser boat to be assigned to.

That matters more than it sounds. A group too large for one hull travels together on our own boats instead of being split between operators, and a boat that has to come off the water moves you across rather than cancelling your day. On the crossing to Biševo, eleven metres and a deep freeboard under a hardtop are the difference between a boat that is comfortable at speed and one that is merely fast. Every departure is held to twelve guests per boat, and the safety kit is identical on each: life jackets in adult and child sizes, EPIRB, VHF radio, flares and fire extinguishers, checked before the lines come off.

  • Twin 480hp diesels
  • Twelve guests, never more
  • Hardtop shade over the cockpit
  • Full sundeck aft
  • Panoramic seating
  • Bluetooth sound system
  • Identical safety kit on every hull
  • Bottled water on board

Not Recommended For

  • Pregnant women
