Cancellation Policy

Plans change and the sea does not always cooperate. These are the terms we apply in full, with nothing in smaller print underneath them.

1

Cancelled 7+ days before departure — no charge

2

Cancelled 5–7 days before departure — 30% of total cost

3

Cancelled 3–4 days before departure — 50% of total cost

4

Cancelled within 48 hours or no-show — 100% of total cost

If the weather cancels the day

The skipper makes that call on the morning of the tour, and it is based on wind and swell rather than cloud — a grey day is usually a perfectly good day on the water. If the route cannot run safely you either move to another date or take a full refund of everything you have paid, the deposit included. There is no fee and no argument. We would rather lose the booking than run a day nobody enjoys.

How to cancel

Reply to your confirmation email, or message the WhatsApp number printed in it, with the booking name and the date. We answer in writing every time. A cancellation counts only once you have that reply — please do not assume a missed call has gone through.

The deposit and your refund

A 15% deposit holds the date and the balance is paid on the day of the tour, so cancelling before departure never involves us collecting anything further from you. Where a refund is due it goes back to the card that paid, and banks typically take five to ten working days to show it. We do not charge a processing fee on top.

Moving the date instead

Changing to another date in the same season costs nothing if there is room on the boat, and outside the July and August peak there usually is. Ask as early as you can — the closer to the date, the fewer options we have. A move is almost always a better outcome than a cancellation for both of us.

Late arrivals and no-shows

The boat leaves at the stated time. On the Blue Cave route in particular that is not us being strict: the light inside the cave has a window, and the queue of boats at the entrance does not wait. A guest who misses departure counts as a no-show. If you are running late, phone rather than email — we can sometimes hold a few minutes if we know.

What happens to the Blue Cave entrance fee

The cave fee is not ours to refund. It is €18 to €24 per person, collected in cash on Biševo by the authority that runs the cave, and it is never included in the tour price. If the day is cancelled before departure you simply never pay it. If we reach Biševo and the cave has closed for weather while we are there, the fee is not charged either, because you do not go in. Nobody is ever out of pocket for a cave they did not enter.

If you cancel part of a group

Dropping two people from a booking of eight is a change, not a cancellation, and on a group tour it is charged by seat under the notice periods above. On a private charter the price is for the boat, so the total does not move when the headcount does — a group of eight that becomes six pays the same, and the per-person figure simply rises. Tell us either way, because the crew provisions water and gear by headcount.
