Why book a speedboat shore excursion from Split Port
If your ship is calling at Split for the day, you have a choice: walk the Diocletian's Palace with 3,000 other cruise passengers, or get on a small fast boat and see five islands the cruise tours can't reach. We run shore excursions specifically designed around cruise schedules, with hard return times built into the itinerary.
The Split Port (Gradska luka Split) is a 5–10 minute walk from our boat meeting point on the central Riva. Most cruise passengers can be on our boat 15 minutes after stepping off the gangway, with no transfer needed.
Which excursion fits your port-call window
Cruise calls at Split typically run 8 to 11 hours. Pick by the time you have ashore:
- Port call 6–8 hours → Blue Lagoon & Trogir half-day (5 hours total) — covers a turquoise swim and a UNESCO walk, back well before sailing
- Port call 9–11 hours → Hvar & Pakleni private charter (8 hours, customised return time) — the most photogenic full day, back with time to spare
- Overnight port call → Blue Cave 5-Island Tour (10 hours, 07:30–17:30) — the iconic full route
- Tight 4–5 hour call → Sunset cruise or short Trogir transfer — focused single-stop options
How we guarantee return before sailing
For every cruise booking we ask for your ship name, port arrival time and final on-board time. We build a hard return buffer into the day — usually 90 minutes earlier than your ship's published on-board time. If for any reason we cannot meet that buffer (weather, mechanical, harbour congestion), the tour gets rerouted or shortened, not delayed. We have never missed a return time and we plan accordingly.
If your ship's schedule changes en route (faster crossing, weather diversion), call or WhatsApp us as soon as you know — we will adjust the day. Safety first, ship first, photos second.
What cruise passengers see in 5 hours that the ship excursions miss
Cruise-ship shore excursions tend to be coach-based: Diocletian's Palace tour, optional Krka day trip, optional Trogir bus tour. They are perfectly fine, but they put 40 people on a bus and stay on the mainland.
Our half-day Blue Lagoon & Trogir trip on a speedboat lands you on a shallow turquoise lagoon between Drvenik Veliki and Krknjaši, gives you 45 minutes to swim in some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean, and still includes an hour walking UNESCO-listed Trogir before the return. It is the kind of day people pay for entire holidays to experience, compressed into a single port call.
Logistics from the cruise terminal
Disembark at Split Port (Gradska luka Split). Walk straight along the Riva toward the eastern end (5–10 minutes). Our meeting marker is opposite the central marina; we'll send a GPS pin to your contact phone the day before.
If you have mobility concerns or want a guided transfer from the ship to the boat, we can arrange a crew member to meet you at the cruise terminal gate. Just message us when you book with your ship name and arrival time.
Pack light: swimsuit, towel, sun cream, light layer, water bottle, cash for the optional Blue Cave entry. Leave the suitcase on the ship.
For passengers who arrive via tender (your ship is anchored offshore rather than docked), allow an extra 30 minutes for the tender transfer to the Riva pier. Tender disembarkation runs every 15 minutes typically; the first tender of the morning is usually at 07:45–08:00. Plan your booking with us accordingly — half-day tours leaving at 13:00 are forgiving on tender timing, full-day tours leaving at 07:30 are not.
Which cruise lines call at Split (and what their schedules look like)
Split is a frequent stop on Eastern Mediterranean itineraries. Common lines include Royal Caribbean (typically 9–11 hours in port), MSC Cruises (10 hours), Norwegian (8–10 hours), Celebrity (9–11 hours), and smaller-ship lines such as Viking Ocean (12–14 hours) and Windstar (often overnight). The longer the port call, the more flexibility you have — most cruise passengers we host are on lines with 9+ hour calls.
Norwegian Encore, Mein Schiff, and Marella all call at Split with 8–10 hour ports — these fit the half-day Blue Lagoon route comfortably. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity often run 11-hour days, which opens the Hvar & Pakleni private charter as a real option. Viking Ocean's longer overnight stops occasionally allow even the full Blue Cave 5-island day; check your ship's published schedule and message us so we can confirm.
Whatever line you're sailing with, the principle is the same: tell us your ship's name, port date, and final on-board time when you book, and we'll either confirm a fit or honestly recommend a shorter route. We'd rather you swim in a turquoise lagoon for an hour and make your ship comfortably than push a tight itinerary and stress the entire day.

Frequently asked questions
Will I be back at the ship before it sails?
Yes — we build a 90-minute buffer before your ship's on-board time into every cruise booking. We have never missed a return time and we treat the ship schedule as the hard constraint of the day.
Which speedboat tour fits a typical 9-hour Split port call?
Either the Blue Lagoon & Trogir half-day (5 hours, leaves a buffer for shopping on the Riva) or the Hvar & Pakleni private charter (8 hours, customised to your ship's timing).
How far is Split cruise port from the speedboat meeting point?
A 5 to 10 minute walk along the Riva from the cruise terminal to our meeting marker at the eastern marina. No transfer needed for most passengers.
Can you do the Blue Cave tour as a cruise excursion?
Only if your ship is in port for 10+ hours and leaves after 18:00. The Blue Cave route is 10 hours (07:30–17:30) — most cruise calls cannot accommodate it. For short port calls, the Blue Lagoon half-day is the right choice.
What happens if my cruise ship is delayed arriving in Split?
Message us as soon as you know — we will reschedule you to a later boat that day if one runs, or refund your deposit if no alternative is possible. We do not penalise cruise schedule changes.
Do I need to bring my ship boarding pass?
Yes — bring your ship's cruise card and a photo ID. You will need them to re-board the ship. Leave passports in the ship's safe if your itinerary allows.
Can my entire travel group join the cruise shore excursion?
For groups of 4 or more, we usually recommend a private charter — same per-head cost as group tours but with full flexibility on return time and lunch stops. Tell us your group size and we will compare honestly.
Is the speedboat excursion safe for elderly cruise passengers?
Yes — the boats are stable, covered, and we have wide steps with handrails for boarding. We can adjust the day for guests with mobility concerns. Just tell us at booking and we will tailor the route.
