Hotel Marvie is on the Žnjan ridge about 3 km east of the central Split Riva, with a quiet residential feel and great sea views. To reach our boats you have three options: a 10-minute taxi ride (€8–€12), a 25-minute walk along the coastal promenade (lovely if you have the time), or a complimentary transfer from the Marvie reception arranged when you book your tour.

Most Marvie guests choose the complimentary transfer for early-morning Blue Cave departures — it's 10 minutes door-to-dock and saves you arranging a taxi for 06:50am. For the half-day 13:00 tours, many guests prefer to walk the promenade and have lunch on the Riva before boarding.

Marvie-specific timing tips

Marvie's breakfast service runs 07:00–11:00 on the terrace overlooking the bay. Our 07:30 Blue Cave departure means you'll want either a 06:30 quick breakfast or a takeaway. The Marvie kitchen will prepare a coffee-and-pastry bag if you let them know the night before — it's a smooth handoff.

Coming back to Marvie at 17:30, you'll find the hotel's spa and pool perfect for a post-tour recovery before dinner. The hotel restaurant is good but the Riva and old town have more variety; we'd suggest a taxi or the coastal promenade walk back for dinner.

Žnjan beach and the Marvie's coastal location

One of the under-appreciated benefits of staying at Marvie is the Žnjan beach right below the hotel — a long pebble bay with calm shallow water, beach bars, and far fewer crowds than Bačvice. After the boat day, many guests stop at Žnjan for a swim before walking up to the hotel.

From the speedboat as we leave Split in the morning, you'll actually see the Marvie up on its ridge — wave from the boat, it's a small ritual the kids enjoy.

Why a speedboat day matters from Marvie

Marvie's location gives you a peaceful Žnjan base but you're 3 km from the action — which means the boat day is the natural way to spend your prime day in Split. By boat you cover Hvar, the Blue Cave, the Pakleni Islands, all the places that defined the photos you saw before booking, without having to leave Marvie's calm rhythm.

Many Marvie regulars do the boat day mid-stay (day 2 or 3), then spend the rest of the trip alternating between the Žnjan beach, the hotel pool and a couple of dinner trips into Diocletian's Palace. It works beautifully.

For multi-night stays we'd specifically recommend pairing the boat day with one Marjan peninsula morning — a 12-minute taxi from Marvie to the trail head, an hour walking the ridge with the best harbour photos in Split, and a swim at Kašjuni or Bene beach before lunch. The contrast between the high-energy boat day and the quiet Marjan ridge is exactly what makes a Split holiday feel longer than it is.

The Marvie spa, Žnjan walking and dinner choices

Marvie's spa is one of the better hotel wellness centres in Split — heated pool, sauna, steam, treatment rooms — and after a 10-hour boat day it is the right place to spend an hour before dinner. Pre-book a 45-minute massage for the evening of your tour; the spa team will hold a slot if you call from the boat at 17:00.

For dinner, Marvie's in-house restaurant is reliable but the most interesting eating is the walk back into central Split. The Žnjan coastal promenade leads to Bačvice in 20 minutes; from there you're 5 minutes from Konoba Matejuška or Bokeria. If you'd rather stay close, Šperun and Restaurant Boban are both excellent and a 12-minute taxi from the hotel.

Žnjan beach itself is worth a slow morning the day after your boat trip. Walk down from the hotel at 09:00 when the beach is still quiet, swim for an hour, have an espresso at one of the beach cafés, and walk back up for the breakfast service before 11:00. It's the kind of slow Mediterranean morning that justifies the trip.
