Walking from Hotel Marmont to our boats
Hotel Marmont is at Zadarska 13, on a quiet pedestrian lane inside the historic core of Split. The walk to our boat meeting point on the central Riva is about 220 metres — 3 minutes through the palace's south-west gate and out onto the seafront. The lane is narrow, paved with old stone, and lit beautifully in the early morning.
We meet you at the eastern Riva marker and you'll receive a GPS pin via WhatsApp the day before. If you have heavy bags or limited mobility, message us and we'll have a crew member meet you at the Marmont reception 15 minutes before departure.
Most-booked tours by Marmont guests
Marmont attracts boutique-stay travellers — couples, design-minded solo travellers, repeat Croatia visitors who know exactly what they want. The tour mix:
- Blue Cave 5-Island Tour — €119/person, the iconic full day
- Hvar & Pakleni Private Charter — slower pace, romantic, private boat
- Blue Lagoon & Trogir half day — great half-day option for short stays
- Bespoke proposal day — co-ordinated with the Marmont concierge
Marmont breakfast and tour timing
Marmont's breakfast service runs 07:30–10:30 on the rooftop. That overlaps with our 07:30 Blue Cave departure, so for full-day tours we recommend an early takeaway breakfast — pastries, espresso, fresh fruit — which the kitchen prepares from 06:45 on request. Most of our regular Marmont guests do this.
If you'd rather have a proper Marmont breakfast and still get on the water, the half-day Blue Lagoon and Trogir tour at 13:00 is the natural choice. You eat slowly on the rooftop, walk the morning palace, and we have you on the boat by lunchtime.
Why a boat day pairs perfectly with a Marmont stay
Marmont's setting — boutique rooms inside the Roman palace — is at its best in the early morning and at night. The middle of the day, especially in peak season, the palace fills with day-trippers from cruise ships. Going out on the boat for the day means you experience the palace at its quietest (when you leave at 07:15) and again at its loveliest (when you return at 17:30 and the day crowds are gone). It's the best way to enjoy a Marmont stay.
Many of our repeat Marmont guests do this every visit — 1 day in the city, 1 boat day, 1 day in the city. It works beautifully.
Couples, anniversaries and proposals
A meaningful share of Marmont bookings involve a couples' milestone — anniversary, proposal, honeymoon. The Hvar & Pakleni private charter is the natural choice: private boat, slow pace, optional chilled bottle and discreet drone photo. The Marmont concierge handles the in-room follow-up (champagne, rose petals, restaurant booking).
Tell us the occasion when you book and we'll co-ordinate quietly. It's one of the things we genuinely love doing. Over the years we've handled mid-Pakleni proposals where the partner truly had no idea, dual-anniversary trips for groups of close friends, and one quiet baby-announcement day at Stiniva that's still our favourite. Each one needs different choreography — we'll ask the questions in WhatsApp before the day so we get it right.
Marmont's heritage interior and intimate scale make it particularly well-suited to romantic returns from the boat. You walk through the south-west palace gate at 17:45, the lanes are cooling and the cathedral lights are coming on, and your room with its champagne and flowers is 220 metres from where the speedboat dropped you. There are few hotels in Croatia that do that quiet, layered transition better than Marmont.
The Marmont lanes, restaurants and a slow evening plan
Marmont's location on Zadarska puts you on one of the quieter pedestrian lanes inside Diocletian's Palace — a stone passage that's a 2-minute walk from the western Iron Gate but feels a world away from the tourist flow. The lane itself is part of why people book Marmont; experience it properly by walking out at 07:00 before the day begins, and again at 22:00 after dinner.
Dinner choices within a 5-minute walk of Marmont: Bokamorra (Italian, our favourite for a longer dinner), Konoba Hvaranin (traditional Hvar cooking inside a palace courtyard), Mazzgoon (wine-focused tasting menu), Apetit (Dalmatian classics in a stone-walled basement). All four take reservations through the hotel concierge.
The classic three-evening Marmont sequence: Bokamorra on arrival night, Konoba Hvaranin or Mazzgoon on the night after your boat day (you'll be tired enough to want sitting down with wine), and a final dinner at Apetit before flying out. Pair each with an evening walk on the Riva — 4 minutes from the hotel — and the trip feels longer than three nights.
